REGISTRATION
PROCEDURES & POLICY
Registration
is required for all DAAIS activities, and it is accepted on a
“first come, first-served basis.” Registration may be completed
by mail, by fax or on-line.
REGISTRATION
CONFIRMATION:
Registration
confirmation will be sent to participants approximately ten days
prior to the activity. If a session is closed due to maximum
enrollment, registrants will be placed on a waiting list in the
order that the registrations were received. Registrants will be
notified of the waiting list status. Those on the waiting list
will be notified by phone if openings become available.
ACTIVITY
CANCELLATION:
DAAIS reserves
the right to cancel activities because of low registration.
Registrants will be notified of cancellations.
PARTICIPANT
CANCELLATIONS or NO-SHOWS:
Late
Cancellations and No-shows create major problems. They may keep
someone else from having the opportunity to participate in the
activity, and they almost always result in a significant expense
to DAAIS. Late cancellations and no-shows will be reported to
superintendents. In the case of administrator sessions for
which SEMI credit is available, it is necessary to supply the
MDE with a list of registrants prior to the session. In
addition, shortly after the session begins, the actual sign-in
mastery roster must be faxed to the MDE. No-shows will receive
a reprimand from the MDE.
LOCATION and
TIME:
Professional
development sessions are held at Delta State University and many
other sites across the Delta. Please check the location and
time of each session in the Calendar of Professional
Development. Maps to commonly used sites are available from
that web page, also.
CONTINUING
EDUCATION UNIT CREDIT:
Continuing
Education Unit credit is available for most professional
development sessions through the Office of Continuing Education
at Delta State University. CEU credit is useful for renewal of
teachers’ licenses. The application for CEU credit is made at
the conclusion of the activity, and payment must be made at that
time. (Late CEU applications will not be accepted.) The cost
of CEU credit is $15.00 for each activity. Checks should be
made payable to Delta State University.
